Jewellery Care

  • Nitara by CJ Enterprises jewellery is completely hand-crafted at our workshops and needs to be handled delicately. Handle each piece with care, as many pieces—especially some stones—are prone to breakage if dropped or dealt with recklessly. Avoid wearing jewellery during physical exercise, cooking, or any activity that could cause scratches or breakage.
  • Your jewellery should be stored in a dry place, away from humidity, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
Rings, bangles, and bracelets should be worn sparingly to avoid damage through impact.
  • Don’t forget to remove your rings when washing or showering, as soap particles may become lodged in stone settings and crevices. Soaps can also leave a film over metal and stones, creating a dull appearance. Harsh soaps and detergents could completely tarnish the product, leaving no scope of replenishment.
  • Store your jewellery in its own box or pouch to prevent scratching, chipping, and entanglement—especially those that are heavily strung in beads or pearls.
  • Commercially available jewellery boxes are not recommended for storage, as they may contain chemical adhesives that cause discolouration and blackening. Instead, plastic boxes layered with cotton cloth and bubble wrap are your jewellery’s best friend.
  • All Nitara by CJ Enterprises silver jewellery is hand-polished before sale. When exposed to the atmosphere, all metals—especially alloy & silver—are prone to oxidation and tarnishing.
  • Gentle rubbing with a cotton cloth after wearing can restore the original brilliance of the surface if any grooming products have layered over the parts that stick to the skin. This step is essential before storing, as fumes and chemicals, when stored with the product, can lead to blackening or dullness.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners for alloy, silver, or gold jewellery.
  • If you wear your gold-plated silver jewellery for extended periods, the plating will naturally wear down. To restore its appearance, you can have it re-plated for a nominal additional charge. Please connect with our team via email or WhatsApp for assistance.
  • Ensure your jewellery does not come into regular contact with hard surfaces, as this can scratch or wear down the plating or enamelling.

Never use detergent, soap, toothpaste, etc. to clean your jewellery.

  • When dressing, put on your jewellery last, as make-up, cosmetics, and perfumes can cause severe damage.
  • All stone jewellery requires extra care and consideration during wear to protect the setting.

Pearl & Gemstone Jewellery Care

  • Pearls are delicate. The nacre layer is soft—even in Swarovski and natural pearls—and can chip or wear off over time without gentle handling.

  • Store pearls in a soft-lined box, away from metal jewellery that may scratch them.

  • Heat and light can affect a stone’s colour and durability. Direct sunlight may fade many semi-precious and artificial stones.

  • Navratna (Nine Gems) jewellery is composed of nine different gemstones, each representing a planet. While it is often used for astrological purposes, we do not take responsibility for any personal beliefs associated with the jewellery.

While utmost care is taken to ensure the best quality and craftsmanship in every piece, this is handmade jewellery. There may be stone displacement, minor breakage, or other issues due to handling, transit, or conditions beyond our control.

Should you face any such concerns, please send the jewellery piece back to us. If the issue is within our scope of work, we will gladly rectify it for you.
